Sold in Central Oregon News

Hey there,

Spring is in full swing here in Central Oregon and honestly... it's hard not to love this place a little extra right now. Little League games, pickleball mornings, Cub Scout adventures: the community is just humming. More on all of that below.

Whether you're thinking about buying, selling, or just keeping an eye on the market, I hope this gives you something useful (and maybe a little fun) this week.

📊 MARKET SNAPSHOT

Redmond, OR 97756: What the Market Is Telling Us This Week

The median list price in Redmond right now is $595,000, and we have 216 active listings on the market. That's inventory on the rise, which is worth paying attention to.

The Market Action Index is sitting at 33, down just slightly from 34 last month. We're still in slight seller's advantage territory, but the trend is worth watching: inventory is growing and the index has been drifting lower for a few weeks. Prices have held steady for now, but if that pattern continues, we could start to see some downward pressure.

A few numbers I'm keeping an eye on:

• Median days on market: 42 days... but the average is 87. That gap tells a story: well-priced homes are moving, and overpriced ones are sitting.

32% of active listings have had a price reduction. That's the market doing what it always does when a home starts too high.

• New listings are coming in at a median of $579,500, slightly below the overall median, which suggests sellers are getting more realistic at entry.

The takeaway: this is still a reasonable market for sellers, but the window for pricing optimistically is narrowing. Getting it right the first time matters more right now than it did six months ago.

🌲 AROUND TOWN

What's Happening in Redmond Right Now

One of the things I love most about this community is that there's always something going on, and it always feels like real life, not a highlight reel. Here's a little of what's been filling my weekends lately.

🏓 Sisterhood Pickleball Is Back

Our Sisterhood of Redmond pickleball group is meeting again, and we are very much a beginner-friendly crowd. If you've been curious about the sport or just want a fun Friday morning, come find us.

• When: Friday mornings, 9:00 AM

• Where: Sam Johnson Park, back courts

• Parking note: The lot by the pickleball courts is under construction. Park in the main lot and walk behind the basketball hoops through the construction gate to reach us.

📖 Book Club — The Horse Whisperer

We're reading The Horse Whisperer for our monthly Sisterhood book club. Our next meeting is Wednesday, May 7th, and we meet the first Thursday of every month after that. If you love books and good conversation, you'd fit right in.

🎲 Game Night Is a Thing Now

We just had our very first Sisterhood game night last Saturday and it was a hit. We've already got our next one on the calendar: Friday, May 16th. Location and games TBD (we're waiting on RSVPs before we lock things down), so if you want in, let me know!

⚾ Little League Season Is in Full Swing

If you've driven past American Legion Park, Bowlby Park, or Gary Ward Park on a weeknight lately, you've seen what I mean: the bleachers are full, the kids are loud, and it is exactly the kind of Saturday morning energy that makes this place special.

I volunteer in the concession stand and help out with my son's team, the Green Jet Machines (7-8 year olds). They are a great time. Games are happening all over town this spring: American Legion Park, Umatilla Sports Complex, Bowlby Park, Gary Ward Park, Sisters Elementary, Ponderosa Elementary, and Caldera High School.

⚜️ Cub Scout Troop 27 — Bike Rodeo Coming Up

We just wrapped up a really meaningful troop event: our annual tree planting at Spud Bowl on April 8th. Five vine maples and a whole lot of mulch later, the scouts were pretty proud of themselves. I was too.

Next up: our annual Bike Rodeo at Quince Park. The Redmond Police Department will be on-site to teach bike and road safety, and it's open to scouts, siblings, friends, and family. All skill levels welcome: bikes with or without training wheels, and scooters too. Helmets are required.

We'll have stations for helmet checks, bike tune-ups, Red Light/Green Light, Simon Says, and a slow race. No experience needed to volunteer... we'll walk you through everything. If you need a bike or scooter, reach out to Amanda and we'll see what we can do.

That's it from me this week. If you're thinking about buying or selling, or you just want to talk through what the market looks like right now, I'm always happy to chat.

Talk soon,

Diana Pullen
